Peace…

I wonder…was the Bible talking about Peace and Goodwill toward men what happens the first day back to school after Christmas break?  There is TONS of peace (peace and too much quiet, LOL!).  Those who know me well know that I may complain about chaos, but I also thrive in it.  Busy season has come and gone and we all made it through.  My parents were here with us for a full 2 weeks.  And, we all completely enjoyed it.

My prayer for you in 2010 is that you look up.  Look up and find what God has in store for you!  It’s an exciting time.  Blessings to you all in 2010!

Princess {Atlanta Children’s Photographer}

I fell in love a couple of years ago…with this family!  Have I mentioned I have the GREATEST job in the world?  I’ve know this little one since she came into the world.  She is absolutely adorable and SMART as a whip!  It’s so fun to watch her.  And, one of the things I love MOST about doing her portraits is watching the absolute adoration that her parents have for her.  During our shoot, we had “tea” together…in a most unusual way.  Gecko tea anyone?  Tell her I thought it was DELICIOUS (and a little squirmy to boot).

Miracle Child {Atlanta Children’s Photographer}

I’ve known this little boy before he was EVEN a sparkle in his daddy’s eyes!  His mom and I worked hard together on something called WIT (Women in Technology).  We ran an AWESOME auction…ok, I digress.  I’ve attached an old picture I did of him in 2007 so you can see JUST how much he has grown.  What makes him a miracle you ask?  This little one was born WAY before he was supposed to.  I don’t remember the exact number, but I’m thinking it was around 27 weeks gestation?  He spent many months in the hospital and has had multiple surgeries.  His parents are amazing.  So loving, always his advocate and voice.  He is such an angel and I feel SOOOOO priviledged to be able to capture his growth year after year.  Thank you!!!

Newborn In Atlanta

This mommy is one of my BEST friends and we got to celebrate the birth of her sweet little one while I was back in Georgia this week.  I only had a short time to take some portraits of little “SK”, and she decided to not sleep for us.  But, that’s ok.  Go with the flow.

What I love most about the portrait of mom and baby is that it is REAL!  If you know this wonderful friend of mine, you would think she’s from a storybook.  She’s a stay at home mom with now 3 kids.  The older two are in 4th grade and Kindergarten.  She homeschools them booth, works as a nurse for an awesome Christian organization in downtown Atlanta once a week, and has a newborn to boot!  She always looks fabulous…and in this portrait she doesn’t have a lick of make-up on.  She will probably kill me for putting this portriat up here, LOL!  But, I love it, she just radiates the love she feels for this little one!  The beauty of this portrait brings tears to my eyes, and I hope you all enjoy it just as much as I do.

Absolute PERFECTION! [Washington D.C. Newborn Photographer]

When the parents of this little girl told me she was perfect…they were SPOT on!  She slept like an angel the WHOLE shoot.  That happens so rarely (along with me NOT getting pooped on…which is a total miracle in of itself) that I just had to tell EVERYONE!  It was also very hard for me to choose just three “sneak peeks”, as the whole shoot was fantastic.

Gotta tell you the story behind the pink blanket she is wrapped in.  It was her mom’s blanket as a little girl, and you could tell it had been well “loved” over the years.  How neat to have something like this to pass down to your child.  I think we managed to make the blanket look pretty good.  Then again, I think this little one would have looked adorable in a wet paper bag!

It really was such a pleasure working with them.  I can’t wait to see how she matures (and grows lovely inside and out) over the years.  Congratulations, she’s a COMPLETE blessing!

In Atlanta for sessions in October…

I will be in Atlanta for a limited time, October 20th and 21st.  If you wish to schedule a session during that time, please contact me ASAP, as the spots are already filling up (can you believe that?  It’s nice to be loved in multiple states).

A Maternity to sing about! [Washington D.C. Maternity Photographer]

This couple was as cute as they come!  They live in an absolutely awesome old building in D.C. with lots of character.  I think it reflects so perfectly as to who they are!  Both are in the music industry…and both are calm, sweet, and caring souls.  What absolutely floors you the most is that she is due in about 3 weeks!  Wish I looked this good THAT pregnant.  I have been absolutely horrendous at keeping my website and blog up to date.  They reminded me that even though my first love is photography, how will others know about what I LOVE if I don’t keep up with the website and blog?  Thank you for that gentle and timely reminder.  I promise to try to be better…really :). And, thank you for the lovely opportunity to work with you.  I hope you enjoy the little sneak peek here.

Winnebago Labrador Retriever Club Hunt Test at Bong State Park - Wisconsin

First and foremost…thank you to the Winnebago Labrador Retriever Club (WLRC) for having me this weekend.  I completely enjoyed my time watching and shooting the dogs in the Junior Hunter division.

I thought I’d give you a taste of what you will find by my little “sneak preview”  up above.

The sun was “less than kind and quite harsh” during times in the morning for land retrieves.  However, God heard my photography cry and the water retrieves were most magnificent!

Since there are about 350 images from both areas, I thought it prudent to help you identify which dog was yours.  Every time a new handler (or owner) came up to do the test, I took a snapshot of that handler.  Every dog image that follows that handler is that person’s dog…until the next image of another handler.

I would like to invite you to view the images from the Bong Hunt Test at http://www.j9photography.com/sessions . You will need to create an account.  Once this is done, you should see the Bong Hunt Test gallery for you to click on.  If you do not…click the Access Gallery link and enter in the Access code: c15c7b9a

To purchase an 8×10 or 5×7, simply click on the thumbnail image of your choice and then click on the drop down menu where it says “select picture size” on the right.  Choose your size, then if you choose, the drop down below it will add the WLRC Hunt Test Border to your picture.  Then click add to cart.

To purchase a CD or Collection:

Click on a thumbnail picture you want, then click under the Collections on the right the underlined click here for details.  Choose the CD or Collection of your choice and click Add to Cart.  You will then see whatever collection or CD you choose under the “Collections” section to the right.

For the 1 dog 10 image low resolution CD,  you do not need to add which images you want.  All images, up to 10 will automatically be put onto your CD.

For the multiple dog up to 15 image low resolution CD, you will need to choose which 15 images you wish to have.  After you have added that CD to your shopping cart, then begin by clicking on the thumbnail image you wish to have, then clicking on the Add to Collection button on the right under the Collections area.  Do this with each image you wish to have until you have 15 different images in your collection.

For the Top Dog Collection, select that under the click here for details under the Collections area.  Add it to your cart.  You will then see it under the Collections area underlined.  To add your 8×10 and 5×7’s to this collection…go to the image you wish to have then click on the Top Dog Collection that is under Collections (it will say you have selected 0 of 4 images directly under that).    Click on the little box next to the size you want and use the drop down box if you wish to add a digital border to this image then click Add this picture to this package button.  You only need to choose one image for the CD portion of the collection.  All of your images (up to 10) from your dog will be added automatically to this CD.  However, if you do not choose one image here, the system will not let you check out.

For the Kennel Collection, proceed the same as the Top Dog Collection, with the exception that you need to choose your 15 images your want for your CD.  Should you have any questions or need assistance, please email me at j9photography@bellsouth.net or give me a buzz at 770-330-4958.  Again, thank you for allowing me to watch and capture these amazing dogs!  Blessings… Jeannine Miner.
