Win a session and 10×20 signature storyboard…
Location, Location, Location. Spring has sprung and after having lived here for a year, I’m so ready to find all those “awesome” little places I don’t know about (which are numerous, I’m sure). So, I’m announcing a contest. I am looking for some cool, neat places to shoot. Think outside of the box…gardens, urban, hip, different. Whatever! They JUST have to be in the Winchester, VA area.
You MUST be a J9 Photography fan on Facebook to be eligible. So…if you aren’t…come on over and become one. Then, post either there or here on the blog (under this post) your suggestion. Contest ends April 20th when I randomly draw from those who followed the rules to award a session and mounted 10×20 signature storyboard from that session.
Easy Peasy. I can’t WAIT to see your creativity. Good luck…
Ok - here are my first few suggestions…and they’re probably NOT new to you but we love them!
1. State Arboretum
2. Harpers Ferry - within 30 minutes of Winchester
3. The Levy yard
4. Any of the apple orchards in the area — Marker Miller or this other, I have to get the name. Beautiful!
5. Handley Library steps — the fresh color of children is such a juxtaposition to the old, gray of the steps.
ok — i’ll be thinking of more!
alrighty — I knew I’d think of more.
6. Clearbrook Park — red caboose & the pond. both cool backdrops for pics.
7. The Gardens — Museum of Shenandoah Valley
8. Old Town
There is a campground called Elizabeth Furnace that isn’t too far from here. There is an old historic house that sits in a field and a newly designed wooden suspended bridge. There are even some “latrines” in the campground area that are old, but would probably look really cool in pics! Let me now if you want some more info!
