About

I specialize in maternity, newborn, children, families and high school senior’s archival quality portraits.  Whether on-location or in the studio, capturing more than just a smile is the whole goal.  As a parent, I tell my children that what really counts is on the inside, not just the outer beauty.  That light inside makes us unique, special.

From the laughter to the serious looks, pinky toes to sticky fingers…every part is something amazing, something created by our heavenly Father.

Sessions

Each session is different from the last.  Creating something magical and unique takes time and communication.  The sharing of visions is important so that the final portrait is something you will want to hang on your walls for a lifetime.

Studio sessions will typically have no more than 2 background changes.  Fun props are encouraged…especially if there is a “lovey” or bear your child is attached to. If you prefer an outdoor session, I have many locations I can suggest.  If you schedule an outdoor location, please keep in mind those sessions are booked early in the morning or later in the afternoon to accommodate the best light possible for your shoot.  All newborn sessions are done in the warmth and convenience of your own home.

Sessions run about an hour in length (with exception to the newborn session which goes as long as we need, typically lasting 2-3 hours).   Proofs will be ready to view within 2 weeks.

Clothing

For newborn sessions, I always suggest just the newborn skin they are in.  This means we keep the temperature nice and warm to make sure the baby is comfoy, cozy (and sleeping) for the portraits.

Children are always fun to photograph with bright, happy colors….when they are alone.  If you have more than one child in the session, I suggest sticking with neutral, solid colors, so the portrait draws your eye to their beautiful faces, not the clothing.

For families, sticking to the same color palette for shirts and khaki’s or jeans on bottom is best for a casual portrait.  A deeper consultation is required for a more formal family portrait.
